Join The New Teacher Project, the Carnegie Corporation and the Robertson Foundation on July 8, for a discussion of The Widget Effect and its implications for teacher effectiveness reform.

We are no longer accepting RSVPs for this event.

The Widget Effect describes how our public education system treats teachers as interchangeable parts, not individual professionals.

To reverse the Widget Effect, districts must orient all human capital decisions – including hiring, professional development, compensation and retention – around maximizing teacher effectiveness.

Panelists will discuss how school systems, states and teachers unions can address this challenge with Race to the Top and other ARRA funding.
